Hi all,
A strange request I know - but here goes..
I'm after a DVD player that will play not only DVD-R and all the regular stuff but also DVD+DL discs (like Verbatim DVD+DL 4X)
AND have a volume control on the remote.
This is very important as I use a seperate sound system on my TV that doesn't have a remote so having audio level control on the player is vital.
Thanks in advance for anyones help.

It's my understanding that most players should be able to play DL discs, however, as with any other media...trial and error is needed to find the media that works best with a specific player.
I personally haven't seen any DVD players with volume control. With the exception of abnormal requests like your's...there is no need.Google is your Friend -
Some Apex players have volume control on the remotes.

Several DVD players that support karaoke have volume controls on the remote that controls the ANALOG audio output only. The volume control, along with the mic's level control, allow the music and mic to be balanced and for an outboard unit like a receiver and/or amp to control overall volume. These types of players are typically Chinese players that are more available on-line and at karaoke stores than in mainstream retail areas.
Of course this remote volume control can also control the volume of DVD movies, etc. independant of the display device or receiver/amp. Also, all of the ones I have used and seen have a mute as well. -
I agree with the first poster.
A volume control for the DVD player on the DVD remote is VERY desirable.
My set-up relies on volume control for the device that's being used. I don't have a "central" audio system.
The cable box from Comcast has a volume control for itself, my DVD player needs one, too.
I'm having a hard time finding a new DVD player for a new room I set-up that has a volume control on the remote. Apex all seem to have this, but trying to find a new Apex these days is very hard where I am. -
The LG LDA-530's remote control has a separate simplified (but programmable) TV section on it. The TV section controls are on/off, channel, video input selection, and VOLUME.
I often use the LG when I simply want to watch the news (without going through the stereo)./network admin, programmer, musician, avid reader, photographer.. yicfaw -
I have a DOSS DVD player (Wintel or even Wintal in some regions) in our spare room. It has a Volume control. I needed it because the TV in there had no remote. It plays -R single and Dual Layer, but I dont know about +R.
there are some of these brands listed in the DVD player section to the left. Its a pretty low rent player, but worksWho is watching the watchers. -

All my volume controls are controlled via the device that's currently in use. The cable box has its own volume control, my DVD player needs one, too. -
Okay, I understand. I agree that would be a great idea. I watch movies through my stereo so the volume control on my LG remote isn't used at all.
