Audiovox 10” portable DVD (PVS33116) does not have a remote control but cheap. Is it hackable for region free?

Specialty players are usually not "hackable" and the typical way for users to "hack" a player is via remote code. So two strikes against that player.

If you know that you want/need a region free player, then get a player that supports region free. Don't take chances on "hacking" a player later.

The ability to hack region codes is a result of the manufacturer's selling the same unit in many areas of the world. Rather than make a separate model for each region, they produce the same hardware and change the region code. Methods include the menu hacks which use a remote, switches or jumpers on the circuit board or different firmware.

If your model is distributed worldwide there is probably a way to hack it, but it may not be easy or documented or possible without a firmware update.

If you can't find any documentation on how to hack it and are not a technical whiz, assume it can't be hacked.

Note that many portable players CANNOT be hacked by any means, not even with a remote control. A quick search I did on Yahoo about this did not look very good for this player.
