    Hi ghostat12,

Use any / your chosen encoder to encode each AVI to MPEG2 (for DVD) and then put the two films onto one disc during the authoring stage.
There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.

    Carpe diem.

If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room.

after you encode the avi's to mpeg2, you can use virtualdub or virtualdubmod to slap the avi's together. here's a helpful guide.

Just to add, if you take the total running time of both parts and use that in a bitrate calculator, you can make optimum use of your bitrate vs size of the final product. I would also recommend what daamon said and don't combine your AVI's. That's where a lot of audio sync problems originate. The authoring program can play one file after the other, seamlessly. Really the best way to go, IMO.

Why would you join the AVIs AFTER you've converted each to MPEG-2 ?

It makes no sense. You'd either join the AVIs before the conversion, or join the MPEG files before or at the authoring stage, no ?

FWIW, I'd use DivxToDVD or http://members.dodo.net.au/~jimmalenko/AVI2DVD.htm to handle the conversions.
    If in doubt, Google it.

opps, my mistake . i apologize for that. you obviously join avi's before conversion. don't know what i was thinking about. guess i meant before you encode avi's to mpeg2, you can use virtualdub... ya, that's it!

ok now i got it thanks for virtualdub, and more question, how long does it take to burn a movie that is 4.3 gigabit? because for me it took 40 minutes each 4 gigabit movie and my burner can run 16x, but i heard it only take 5 to 10 minute to burn a 4 gig movie rite?
