    Can Be PCI or AGP.

The Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-350 is an excellent hardware PCI MPEG-2 encoding card. It has a video out, but it only works on standard MPEG files, no DVD or AVI for example...

What is "low profile" supposed to mean?

I don't think they make one for ML@LP if that's what you're after. Most consumer cards are strictly for MP@ML for DVD.

    Hi there,

Have you checked Newegg? A quick peek there shows quite a few cards that are low profile. They have pictures for just about all of what they sell.

I personally like my ATI theatre elite card, I think it is a low profile card, but can't honestly remember. But it don't got video out.

I think that there are a few of the Hauppauge MCE edition cards that are low profile that may have video out.

Probably not. Video cards need a lot of room for all the parts. It's not a wimpy modem or something.

I agree. The point of a video card is to provide good quality picture, and you just need room for the parts if you want good quality. You might find small external ones though, I think I saw something at Fry's that just looked like some cables and then a box the size of a mini-cell-phone. It was a capture card though. I don't know how good it would be.

Just get an external (ADS PYRO AV/LINK). All you need is a firewire connection. You can get the AV/Link with Adobe Premiere Elements for around $160.00, and you can use it on multiple pc's, move it from place to place, etc...

  12. The is a low profile version of the Hauppauge PVR-150. See the picture:

The PVR-150 has lots of problems with PAL but seems to be OK for NTSC.
