    Hi
I have 2 mpg2/ac3 files + .srt subtitle files (originally the files were divx/ac3 avi's) that I want to put on a DVD that I can play on a standalone DVD player. I do not want to loose the ac3 5.1 audio.
I've had a good look at all articles of this website but till now did not find the optimal toolset.

This is what I have tried so far:
I tried virtual dub with tmpgenc. VirtualDub as frame server and tmpgenc to re-encode the files. My idea was to create a DVD with the resulting (single) file in dvd lab pro or so.
I found out though that tmpgenc converts to ac3 2.0 only (and only if you have the ac3 encoder installed). So then I loose 5.1 audio

I also tried to join the 2 mpgs in dvd authoring tools such as Tmpgenc DVD Author or DVD Lab Pro.
Tmpgenc DVD Author allows you to join the 2 mpegs and then creates one title with 2 chapters. But Tmpgenc does not support subtitle files

I tried to join the 2 files in DVD Lab Pro. I then use 2 movies and move the video, audio and subtitle content in each movie.
Disadvantage here is that DVD Lab Pro joins them by putting each movie in a separate title. The transition from the first title to the second is not smooth. The playback stops for half a second or so and then continues.

Should I stick to DVD Lab Pro and accept the tiny hickup or are there better ways of doing what I want

    Thanks in advance
    Simon
