No. Both will take 5.1 AC3. DLP will also take DTS whereas DA3 will not.

But can a wav file be a 6 channel one? It was because I used DVD2AVI to create this "The Calypso2 AC3 T02 3_2ch 448Kbps 48KHz.wav" file, thinking that it was a 6 channel one, but see what I got:

If I would have to choose the first track to rip, I would get: "The Calypso2 AC3 T01 0_2ch 448Kbps 48KHz.wav"

theoretically a wave file can be multi-channel. WAV, like avi, is a container file and can have many different types of compression applied. I have CDs at home that have 5.1 channel DTS and AC3 audio that was held inside wav files before burning.

Mostly though, wav files are stereo or mono. I suspect, in your case, you just have a stereo wav file. If it does have 6 channels then you will have to demux these out to 6 mono wav files, then load these into vegas and create a 5.1 AC3 track.

Ok, but I think that The Sony DVD Architect 3.0, does not save in 5.1 format. In a test that I did, It converted a 5.1 audio, to only a 2 channel one.

What tool could I use to demux a wav file?

Vegas 6 WILL render into 5.1 format. Just drop that then into DVD Architect 3.

  8. jjulio1,

i was getting the same problem with DVD Architect
To correct this, when you press "Make DVD", somewhere [I cant remember exactly where now and I dont have it installed here] theres a "Optimize" button or somting like that
there you will define if your project is 2 channel or 5.1

as far as I know, the 2 waves shown in your dvd architect doesnt means you have a 2 channel or a 5.1

try what I said an let me know

    c u
