I use Vegas Pro 9e or whatever level it is. I also use DVD Architect 5 to author. I was wondering if there is something out there that works as seamlessly as DVD A 5? I would like to have a little more exciting menus to give the DVD a little more pop. I like several of the menus that come with Windows DVD maker. Is there something out there that anyone would recommend? I know menus are just a small part of the DVD but it still is the first part that anyone sees and I like a little POP to start off.

  2. It's just an authoring tool. It doesn't come with anything fancy.

Fancy menus are done in outside programs like photoshop, after effects, 3d programs such as 3dsmax, cinema4d. You can still use DVDA to author, just import the assets from other programs.

You can get as elaborate as you like with motion menus, animated graphics, menu transitions.

You have to use your creativity to make great menus - premade bundled templates are generic and bland

I understand that, but as I stated Windows Movie Maker has a couple menus that are already made that look pretty cool. I just don't want the plain jane kind and was just wondering if there happened to an authoring tool out there that did come with some cool menus. The learning curve for photoshop and after effects are pretty steep from what I have seen. Apparently there is none or none that you know of. Thanks for your help.

This question reminds me of my "IKEA Rule".

Buy IKEA, but nothing that LOOKS like IKEA.

I like only a couple of the wmm templates. Not sold on all, just a couple that are out of the ordinary. I wish I could use some of those and add them to DVD A

Is there anyway a person can get one of the motion menus from the wmm template and use in dvda?

    WMM is basic DVD crapware.

    Architect is far superior software.

If you want an actual upgrade, then look at authoring DVDs with Ulead DVD Workshop.
    It's only $11 at B&H right now!
And it has a number of nice template menus, both motion and stills.

Or DVD Studio Pro (Mac OS X).
You can buy templates for DVDSP, and there are some free ones shared online.

I really don't plan on authoring with wmm. I just like one of the menus they have. It may be crapware but they have one menu I think is cool.

It works on Vista and Win7: http://www.digitalFAQ.com/forum/showthread.php/ulead-dvd-workshop-2126.html
Download the file, follow the instructions.
I have it working here, authored something just last night on Vista 64.

    It's not an XP-only program.

Awesome. It just said XP and did not mention the others.
