  1. I'm using VDbub 1.3a & CCE SP 2.5.01.
I'm following the tutorial on this page in which i extract the audio and video. I complete that part fine, but when i get to the part when i save the VDR file and then open up CCE to encode the file i keep getting an error from VDub. I understand that I suppose to leave up the window that VDub creates after saving the file and then open the file with VDub. Which I do, then i Edit the File in CCE changing some of the settings like VBR instead of CBR...etc. Then when I press the Encode button it ask me to save noname file, when i try to save it i get the option to save it as a ecl file, but that's not a VDR file right? so it won't work. Anyway i tried saving it, and i also tried not saving the noname file, both times it fails. If you want the crash text info VDub creates let me know.

    Thanx in advance.
p.s. here's the link to the tutorial:

The problem is after step 10, it doesn't say anything about saving it, yet when i try to encode in CCE it ask me to save the "noname" file. The only thing i tried to change in the setting was to make it a Multipass VBR, but that wouldn't have screwed the whole thing up right? What do i do?

  2. I'm not really sure what your problem is, but since no one else is helping, I'll offer a couple of possibly less helpful suggestions:

Try upgrading to the latest version of VirtualDub
    Try using avisynth

Load the .vdr file into CCE, set whatever you want and press "encode". Then cce will ask you whether you want to save the controll list (.ecl), that is a text file similar to TMPG's templates. Say yes or no and then the encode starts. That's all.

  4. I just downloaded a newer version of Virtual Dub and it started encoding. Somtimes the simplest answer solves the problem, should have thought of it myself.

Also thanx Truman for explaining what ecl is.
