  1. When trying to burn a VCD yesterday I get an error in the log file that I'm out of memory before it even begins burning. Here's all the info I can think of, let me know if you have any suggestions as what I need to do.

    192mb ram
    999mb cache
    14gig free HD
Tried both 80mb and automatic buffer

  2. THAT IS NO PROBLEM I GOT THE SAMETHING AND IT WAS CAUSE I HAD MANY PROGRAM OPEN AT SAME TIME I RESTAR IT AND NO MORE PROBLEMS

  3. Nope. That was the first thing I checked. Restarted, closed any startup programs, ran freemem and got 170 of my 192mb freed up, and still get the error.

  4. This may be a bit elementary, but how big is the mpeg file? And what does the exact error say?

  5. The line of the log file with the error:
    <TABLE BORDER=0 ALIGN=CENTER WIDTH=85%><TR><TD><font size=-1>Quote:</font><HR size=1 color=black></TD></TR><TR><TD><FONT SIZE=-1><BLOCKQUOTE>5:27:39 PM #6 AVIVCDFILEITEM 1 File AVIVCDFileItem.cpp, Line 632
    c:\Windows\Desktop\vcd\Sevendust - Angel's Son (Strait Up)-slipkorn-nV.mpeg: Not enough memory</BLOCKQUOTE></FONT></TD></TR><TR><TD><HR size=1 color=black></TD></TR></TABLE>
Same error no matter which file it tries to burn first. It's actually 22 files, as far as I know this shouldn't be a problem but I'm not experienced either. They range from 20 to 50mb. Total size is 900mb but nero only shows the length as a factor as to how much I can burn. I'm going to cut it down to what data space the CD is supposed to hold and see if that does it. Any other ideas?

  6. Clayeth,

Nero shouldn't have this problem. Have you try re-installing it? Or you could try this, go to "My Computer", click right mouse and select "Property". Select the "Performance" tab, then do 2 things:

First: click on "File System" and move the arrow to the second to the "None" notch (I don't mean none, I mean the notch next to none), click apply

Second: Click on "Virtual Memory" and select "Let me specify.." and set 256 for max and min and click OK.

Back out onto "Property", click apply. Computer will restart. If this helps, do what you need to do and change the setting back to what it was before after you finish your burning. If this doesn't help, of course, you must change the settings back so that it will not affect your other programs. Good Luck, Jordan

  7. If total file size is ACTUALLY 900 MB, this may be your problem. Try burning....Say, 15 files instead of 22 and see if that works.

    Clayeth,

Most burn progs don´t support long file names (weird because
they don´t use it anyway), like EZCD and WinOnCD.

Try to rename mpeg´s to something not beyond 15 characters.

I´m get rid of any memory warning or crashes.

    Hope it help.

  9. I had this problem and it was becuase the files were not the right format and Nero was unable to recompile them. Did I prompt you that the files were no VCD format before hand? If so get TMPGEnc and change them to the right format and you should be Ok

  10. I suspected that that NERO wasn't recmpiling them correctly, but I also assumed that it would label the errors better. I tried burning just under 700mb instead, but same problem. I'll try fixing the filenames first, then recompile.
