  1. I had two sets of bin & cue files. I used VCDgear to convert to mpeg. Now I have two movie clips that play fine on Windows Media Player. I am now attempting to combine the clips and burn them onto dvd. Using, TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6, as soon as I try to add either file to project, I get two different fatal errors.

The video resolution 480x576 cannot be used for a standard dvd.

The video framerate 25fps cannot be used with the resolution of 480x576.

Can someone please walk me through this. Thanks in advance.

They're PAL SVCDs. TMPGEnc DVD Author won't touch them since they're not DVD-compliant MPEGs. DVD-lab will touch them though - https://www.videohelp.com/guides.php?guideid=727#727 might assist, or try https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=129786 .
    If in doubt, Google it.

  3. Oh, i see. Will Pal versions play on my stand alone dvd player? And do you know of any other program I can use that is freeware to do it OTHER than DVD Lab?

Dvdlab has a free trial time limit if you're doing just this project.
Since you're not using a standard resolution, even dvdlab may give you errors when trying to compile.

Will PAL play in your standalone? What country are you in? Are you in NTSC land or PAL land? Fill in your country in your profile!!!

I suggest you save time and just bite the bullet and re-encode to a standard.

  5. Thanks for the advise, but I have figured it out using Nero Vision Express. The program took the two mpegs, combined them, converted them from pal to ntsc and burned them. Works perfectly in both of my stand alone dvd players.
