I'm a newbie. I'm not sure I even know enough to ask the question properly.
How do I burn a dvd video using Nero 5 or 5.5? with NeroVision Express?
(or, How do I burn authored Vobs to dvd using nero?)
I'm using an AVI. I used Canopus Procoder to "convert to dvd" using the option "VOB to burn directly to dvd".
It made a folder with "Video_TS" that has 5 VOBs, 2 BUP's, 2 IFO's.
What do I do with that folder?
I tried using Nero to burn it in "data" mode. It had a message that said it would not play in a dvd player if using "data" mode. ... I tried it anyway, and it did not work.
Then, I tried using Nero "make a dvd video" option. It said I could add videos, but it would only let me add one VOB (22 minutes, small space), the others would not go on there.
The VOBs play fine on the computer. Sound and video match.
Alternatively, I have tried using Procoder to convert to DVD, using option "MPEG-2 Program stream(.m2p)file for dvd authoring. .... Then, I used that file with Nero "Make a dvd video" which I think went to NeroVision Express. It did work on my standalone player, but the sound didn't match the video.
I would prefer to use Procoder to do the authoring, to "burn directly to dvd" ,since the sound matches the video, but How do I get it burned to a dvd? All I have is Nero for burning.
Thank you very much.
P.S. - I'm not sure which section to post this in: "dvd authoring", Newbie conversion", "newbie general"?
P.S. again, I can use Procoder to convert and AVI to VCD format, then burn several vcd's to one dvd using Nero Data, and it DOES play in my standalone dvd player, but will not work on anybody elses. Now, I'm trying to make a real dvd in better quality of just one video.

So you tried adding your vob's, bup's and ifo's to Nero Video DVD template and put them in the VIDEO_TS folder? And they arn't larger then 4.4gb?
And your trying to burn to a single density DVD-R or +R disc? Nero 5 or 5.5 is pretty old, maybe an upgrade to 6 would work better.
Another possibility would be to download Ulead's demo products (Workshop or MovieFactory). Most are functional for 30 days with some limitations. -
Umm, ... I am a newbie, I don't quite underastand what your' asking. Yes, they are all under the 4.4gb size. .. As for adding my vobs, bups, and ifos's.... nero didn't give me the option to do that on a dvd template. What button do I click on to do that? That may be the answer I was looking for!
When I asked in "help" , nero just says I need to upgrade to 6.0 I don't have money left to do that yet, I was trying to use what I have.
I might try Ulead. Thanks. Just that I don't like demo programs, or trials. They are hard to get out of my computer after it runs out. I've tried some shareware/trials/demos on my previous computer and I could never get them out again. I have much to learn. Thanks. -
In Nero you select DVD video and you will see AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders in the left panel.
Open VIDEO_TS and add all Bup, Vob and Ifo's there. (find your DVD folder (in the right panel) and add all the files inside the folder, not with the folder itself). If Nero 5 does not have a Video template try getting Nero 6 and use it in demo mode.
As far as demo versions of software goes, you should not have any problems with Nero or Ulead programs. The only thing they might leave is a seed that won't let you uninstall and reinstall demo's after they have run out of time.
repost if you need more info.
