  1. Dear all,

I have just bought an Epson P2000 which plays video files in the instruction book it says the following:-

    File format=avi
    Video codec=MPEG4
    Audio codec= AAC MP3
Detail = min resolutions of 160*112 pixels
    Max resolution = 640*480 pixels.
    Max bitrate = 1.4mbps (at 24fps)

I have ripped some dvds to my hard drive using DVD decryptor and then used AutoGK to create AVI files. I have 2 problems

    1. There is no audio on the avi files that Autogk makes.
    2. The avi files will not play on the P2000

Please can anyone help before I lose more hours of my life encoding files that won't work.

    Thanks

    Josh

aac audio in avi is possible, but only via AVIMuxGUI. Are you sure that it isn't suppose to be mp4 files? As MPEG4/AAC makes much more sense in mp4 and mp3 is also supported.

If it actually specifies MPEG4 and not DivX/XviD then it may require that the fourCC be mp4v.

Also with the max bitrate that low you may have problems and I don't think that there is a profile to really suit. ASP@L4 is 3000kbps and ASP@L3 is 768kbps with both specifiying resolutions lower than 640x480 so once again that doesn't make too much sense.

  3. Thanks I think the audio can either be mp3 or aac. I have had no problem playing mp3 files. But it definately says the following

    File Format avi

    Video codec MPEG4

    Audio codec AAC (or) mp3

So what am I doing wrong?

    Thanks

I would suggest trying an mp4 file. That way there are no such issues as fourCC codes. Otherwise I would try changing the fourCC code of the avi files, see if that makes any difference.
