  1. I've found ,using the Windows movie maker capture to a .wmv file, I get a quality reading with the AVI codec info. tool of 100% and playback on the PC looks great.
Using other capture/transfer methods, the info. tool reads a quality of 90%. but looks ok on the pc.
What do I have to do, to get that 100% quality onto a DVD to play on the TV. ? Once it goes anywhere near an encoder, the quality drops noticably, the info tool reads the MPEG-2 at 75%--80%, depending on encoder and settings. Any thoughts ??, Thanks.

I'd export out of WMM using DV-AVI and load that into your encoder. You then need to use suitable settings. Personally, the only % value I rate is that with my own eyes
    If in doubt, Google it.

  3. Thanks, I agree with the visual. Sadly and a little confusing to me is that the compressed wmv reads better and looks better than capture/transfer in DV-AVI,
