Hi ..
I used to capture from my camera using a Windows Movie Maker .. by a firewire ..
but now .. when ever I plug the camera in .. and enter Windows Movie Maker the ( import from a DV camera to capture ) .. it turns into " not responding " .. I dunno why ??
but I tried capturing using WinDV .. it works !!
but I wanna use Windows Movie Maker ..
so whats the problem ,, and how can it be fixed ??

thanks for the reply ..
well I know it has the same quality .. but you know .. WMM rewind the tape to the begging ,, then start recording and stop recording by itself .. it's like you press the button and it does everything ..
Ok ,, can I make WinDV stop recording when the tape is finished ?? and it parts every 15 minutes ,, how can I make it capture in only one big video ??

You can look here on the MS site for a possible resolution to the WMM transfer problem: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/moviemaker/21/faq.mspx Or one of our members may have some advice.
For WinDV, you can look here for settings: http://www.dvd-guides.com/content/view/33/59/ Basically, set the 'Discontinuity threshold' to '0' and the 'Max AVI size' to '1000000' to get a continuous file. -
