No help with WMM, but if you do the transfer with WinDV, you will have exactly the same file as if you used WMM. Then you can open the DV in WMM.

    Hi ,,
    thanks for the reply ..
well I know it has the same quality .. but you know .. WMM rewind the tape to the begging ,, then start recording and stop recording by itself .. it's like you press the button and it does everything ..

Ok ,, can I make WinDV stop recording when the tape is finished ?? and it parts every 15 minutes ,, how can I make it capture in only one big video ??

    thanks again .

You can look here on the MS site for a possible resolution to the WMM transfer problem: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/moviemaker/21/faq.mspx Or one of our members may have some advice.

For WinDV, you can look here for settings: http://www.dvd-guides.com/content/view/33/59/ Basically, set the 'Discontinuity threshold' to '0' and the 'Max AVI size' to '1000000' to get a continuous file.
