Here's the situation:
I ripped an NTSC DVD that contained a film, using DVD
Decrypter, making it one large VOB file. I then used Womble MPEG Video
Wizard to export it as an MPEG2 file with an MPG extension. I then
demuxed this MPG to an MPV and AC3. I converted the Ac3 sound file to 6
channel WAV.
When I play the MPV file with software like VirtualDub MPEG2, or VLC,
it plays normally. VirtualDub states its frame rate is 29.97.
Here's the problem: When I import the MPV into Premiere, it states the
frame rate is 23.98 and displays nearly half the proper running time. It plays in the monitor at the wrong speed, like it's sped up. No matter what
adjustments I make to the project, including the MPEG plugin, I can't seem to get Premiere to understand that this is a 29.97 file. I am aware that the film *itself* is probably 23.98 fps.
What's the best way to get things working properly?
