wmv to avi or mpeg

I'd like to convert some wmv video files to mpeg to burn. what is a good freeware or shareware program for this?

I have a few programs but they don't mention anything about wmv converstion.

virtualdub1.3c should be able to do WMV to AVI, while TMPGEnc can do WMV to MPEG-1.


... or you could go to the tools section, select WMV to AVI in the conversion type box and you'll get these:

If you click on the convert tab to the left you will find guides for converting from one format to another

right after I posted this Q, I loaded my file into Tmpgenc and it went.
I didn't know it could handle wmv so its cool I didn't have to download another program.
