Can somebody please help me? Iam encoding an avi video to m2v using Tmpgenc Express, when I hit encode an error message pops-up saying that "there is no quoted number of character string '%.2f".

  2. I don't know what the problem is but character %.2f is the / (forward slash) character. Maybe you have that character in your filename somewhere -- instead of \ (back slash)?

so, nobody seems to be experiencing the same problem? I might just be doing something wrong, settings, etc. but I dont know what other informations to give. The avi Im working with doesnt have a separate audio and Im encoding it to ntsc dvd video only at 720x480 vbr 2000min, 4150 ave, 8000 max. bitrate.
The video playing time is 1h 17m 13s, codec divx5, aspect ratio 4/3, framerate is 29.97

  5. Does TMPGEnc have problems with any other files? Or is it just that one?

I tried to save it to the default directory and it worked. Maybe when i try to save it to a different folder it detects a special character (/) as junkmalle pointed out. But i've been regularly saving my encodes to a different folder without any problems, anyway, its working fine now, tnx Junkmalle for the info.

  7. Note that in Windows \ is the folder separator, not /. Maybe you had a / in the folder specification?
