  1. Looking for a replacement software for snapstream. Also the picture quality is still not as good as my AIW card was, is there any reason for this? I do have my cable line split 4 ways but that should not effect it as it is digital. Correct? (My AIW was on the 4 line split with better reception still than now) Thanks all!

  2. I would think that WINDVR with Titan TV would work well. Anyone know of any others?

The ATI 550 is infamous for hardware being far ahead of driver support. BeyondTV3 claims to have it working as a realtime MPeg2 encoder.

I'm waiting for some success stories. Don't assume anything will work. The card is too new.

Works excellent with the 550pro chip cards.
Comes with Zap2it program guide, and many many many more plugins.

i tried gbpvr and I am very impressed! I have a couple questions about it though..

    1) When you go to "live TV" what is that red/green bar at the top of the screen?

    2) There doesn't seem to be a "record" button on the screen..How do I record a program without going to the TV guide and hitting "record" or "quick record"

    3) what is the difference between record and quick record?

I think thats about it for now :P...I'm very excited about this program, however!

I contacted Intervideo to see if WinDVR worked with the 550 chip line from ATI.

They did not say yes or no, just pointed to the list of tested hardware on their web site.

  7. I tried gbpvr and it's not bad! I couldn't set the record quality any higher that "medium". I looked through out the system and couldn't find where to change it? :/

It's showing you the remainder of the show (in minutes) that you're watching. If it has red and green stripes, the red are commercials.

You can't. Unless you have one of the plugins (I forget which).
    3) what is the difference between record and quick record?
Record allows you to change the settings. Quick record defaults to medium, and the presets.
I think thats about it for now :P...I'm very excited about this program, however!

When you schedule a recording, you can change the setting to any one of 5 (I think) presets.
You can also select the presets when you click Record, on any screen (not QuickRecord...see post above).
If you want to change what those presets are, go into config, recording source, and edit settings.

Both of you should check out the forums at www.gbpvr.com as well as the wiki (where most of the plugins and skins are) at http://www.bladerhq.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php
