Hi when I try converting my avi file the finish product does not have any sounds. Oh, I use TMPGEnc 3.0 Xpress. When playing it in the media player there is sounds. So I went to look for the answer my self. I found out that the audio format can be AC3 and TMPGEnc does not support AC3. So I use Virtual Dub, and I even install AC3 decompressor. I succesfully converted the audio file to wav. Then I open the avi in TMPGEnc and the new wav file for it to convert. But there is still no sound when I try playing back the converted file. What do I do???? Please help. Thanks in advance.

Can you open your converted file in GSpot (you'll need 2.52 Beta for MPEG files), take a screenshot and post it back here ?

This guide may assist you with your screenshots
    If in doubt, Google it.

If the original is AC3, why not demux it from the avi, convert the avi to mpeg video stream, them author with the AC3 audio back in. Much better solution.
