When importing DVD with the Neno, there is an error message at the point of 98% Analyzing, displaying * Failed to read from file. Data error (cyclic redundancy check). * What does it mean? Is it possible to resolve the problem? I have tried to copy the DVD with different software such as DVD Decrypter, 123 Copy DVD, it also stopped although I already cleaned the disc.

try ripping the disc in another dvdrom/dvd burner. some brands of dvdroms/dvd burners are poor readers. it would help if you filled in your computer profile in this forum site that way we would know what brand dvdrom/dvd burner you have. it would make it easier to help you out.

It means part of the disc is scratched\damaged\unreadable.
Try DVDFab Decrypter to rip the disc.A lot of people have had success with it.

DVDFab Decrypter ripped a couple dvds that had errors (cyclic redundancy check) on them.

Thanks. Can you explain why the DVD unit can still play such a scratched\damaged\unreadable disc but the copy software fails?

B/C on playback it skips right over the bad part and you may get a small glitch or you may not even notice whereas the copy software will not just skip over it. You can get DVDDecrypter to skip over it though, you need to set it to ignore read errors.

Yep,like Zippy.P said, when you play it,it can bypass errors, but ripping is far more sensitive, reading sectors accurately, therefore the rip fails when reaching unreadable sectors. But use Decrypter with ignore errors and like I said DVDFab Decrypter seems to automatically bypass the errors and is very easy, just click and rip.
When ripped to HD,check to make sure the video is OK.

The DVDFab Decrypter is smart and has finally completed the ripping although it also runs a little longer while reading the unreadable sectors. I just do not know why those software such DVDdecrypter, DVDshrink, 123 Copy DVD cannot skip the unreadable sectors but finish the decrypt? ((I did set ignore the error). When those software read the unreadable sectors, they either stuck there or displayed Data error (cyclic redundancy check). Why can’t they just skip the unreadable sectors and finish the decrypt? Maybe it is the software deficiency. Is there any other smart software can more quickly skip the unreadable sectors and finish the ripping?

  9. Sorry coody,I think you'll find that DVDDecrypter and DVDFab Decrypter are among the best rippers you can find.

Thanks for the info. My PC has one DVD ROM. So I have to rip a DVD to the hard drive first (in the temp file) with the DVDFab. Then I have to complete the burning from the hard drive to the DVD ROM with the different software Nero. Is it possible to complete the ripping and burning with DVDFab when one DVD ROM installed?
