Hi
I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to easily add borders to an mpg. Preferably with Tempgenc.
I have a VCD which has the edges cut off on TV, and i would like to add borders so not too much is cut off.
Cheers

Adding black borders to an Mpeg file means re-encoding. If your file has 4:3 display, then change in TMPGEnc under settings==>advanced the source aspect ratio to 16:9 display

I have always wanted to do aspect ratios of 1.85:1 .. I think it looks better than 16:9 and better than 4:3 .. how is this possible? Try it out, you will see what I am talking about.

Hi
Thanks for the reply, and i understand what your talking about, but i guess i didn't really explain myself clearly.
The source is not 16:9 it is a normal 4:3 source however what i am concerned about is when i make my VCD there is a large amount of overlay like with all TV's. So what i wanted to do is i wanted to put a small black border around all sides of the picture so i can see more on the TV itself and so most of the overlay with just be over the black borders.
I have the feeling that i can't do this with Tempgenc, even though it does add borders to the top when i choose 16:9 and does add borders to the sides when i choose full screen keep aspect ratio.
So if anyone has any suggestions to some freeware where i can do this easily without degrading quality i'd really appreciate being pointed in the right direction.
Thanks
