Just wondering what the best program is for splitting
a mpg file into smaller mpg files without recompressing?
I have heard of Ifiledit, Cineplayer Editor, VCD Cutter
Can anybody suggest which of the above is the best or
have any other suggestions of better apps for splitting
mpg files?

vcd cutter is another one, great for cutting and joining and I never get an audio sync problem.

I like MPEGtool for splitting files into two pieces for burning. It is fast and easy, and no re-encoding is required.

The "best", without a doubt, is M2-Edit Pro from Mediaware Solutions. Its expensive, but does it well and you don't need to reencode the MPEG1 or MPEG2 file.
