  1. When I multiplex using tmpgenc (mpeg tools – multiplex tab) it runs and gives the following message. And it does certainly cause errors when I try and view the mpg, it seems to start playing OK but after a while it freezes.

“606070s packets cause buffer underflow the MPEG file might cause problems when played”

Has anyone seen this error before? What does it mean? Any ideas on how to avoid getting this error?

I am trying to extract a scene from a DVD using steps described in the videohelp.com guide “How to convert DVDs back to MPG files for reauthor or reedit” I have used DVD Decrypter to demux a section of the DVD (I selected video + 3 audio tracks). This generates one m2v file and three ac3 files. I select these four files in tmpgenc mpeg tools – multiplex. Multiplexing seems to run OK but gives the above warning message at the end of processing.

why multiplex with tmpgenc? you can add all video and audio streams when you author instead. cause I dont think it is a good idea to make a mpg with several audio tracks.

  3. I am trying to clip out a short segment (1-2mins) so that I can email to family rather than author to DVD. I was hoping that I could make a short mpeg file.

I have tried with just one audio track, but I get a similar error message.

    Hi,

If you're emailing why not try divx/xvid/wmv???? I know you can get two tracks on divx but I don't know about three. You can get the avi/wmv file smaller than the mpg.
