  3. I'm trying to retrieve video bitrate encoded in a DVD for example just now I did calculated 4311kbps for video and 448 for audio.
the way I did was not accurate, using powerdvd to get the movie time and calculate its seconds and devide by size (the subtitle size will make it inaccurate).
I tried bitrate viewer but nothing interesting

    thanks

Audio is easy, as it is almost always CBR, but Video is damn near impossible due to most DVDs using VBR. Sure, you can get averages, but the average doesn't really tell you a lot without knowing the max and min values.

Why don't you just use The latest GSpot Beta directly on the VOB(s) ?

This then tells you the audio bitrate (click on one of the numbers in the blue box if you have multiple streams).

It also tells you the average Video bitrate, and other important info such as frame rate and frame size (to identify if PAL or NTSC) in the red section.

What's your goal in the end ? Why do you need to know the bitrates used ?
    If in doubt, Google it.
