  1. I'll start off by letting you guys knows, I didn't exactly know which forum this should be posted in, so my apology if this should have went into a specific forum.

I started getting into some video editing with Adobe Premiere. I download the Premiere Pro 1.5 trial, which to my knowledge has no limitations as far as usage is concerned.

Anyways, I'm making some WWE music videos, and am having a problem when I try to re-encode an exported .avi from Premiere in TMPGEnc. My problem is that the finished VCD file is shows a shorter timeframe than what the orginal source is, yet it plays the entire file.

For instance, the original exported source from Premiere is 4:10 long, the final VCD .mpeg is only showing 3:28, however, it will play the entire, the clock will just stop at 3:28.

A minor incovience, I know, however, if anyone knows of a fix for this, something that I am doing wrong, please let me know.

^ There is an example, at least on my PC the timer stops at 2:37, however, it continues to play through that.

    Many thanks in advance.

  2. Could be due to different frame rates.

If your source is PAL 25 fps and you are encoding it to NTSC 29.976 fps you would actually shorten the running time of your video by close to 20 pct, which sounds about right from the problem you re having.

Pay attention to the frame rates - If you want to keep the running time constant, encode PAL to PAL and NTSC to NTSC

3:07 for myself. Played in Windows Media Player 6.4.09.1128. VLC shows 3:05, and Media Player Clasic shows 3:07

Sounds like a codec/player problem on your end. The only 3rd party mpeg codec I have installed on my system is Cineplayer. No mainconcept, ligos ...... Besides default windows codecs, there is also divx 5.02, XviD-1.0.3-20122004, Canopus DV, and MiroMotion MJPEG.

  5. Hey thanks for all the responses guys. It must be a codec issue on my side because I opened up the videos in VLC player (forgot to even try that) and they are all showing the correct time lenght.

    Thanks for all the help!
