Something has changed and I don't know what-I've been editing on my Sony DCR-TRV38 using a firewire cable to capture in Premiere Elements and then connecting the camcorder to my VCR & TV using the audio/Video cable into the VCR- setting it to "LINE" and then was able to edit and watch the editng on the TV as I went along. Haven't edited for a couple of months and when i went back to it the other day I couldn't get the shots on the P-Element time line to display- Wonder what has changed and how to get this useful facility back?

Bob -- you might try logging in to the Adobe Premiere Elements support forum for your future questions. Very specific help for PrEl users.
Viewing the editing on my video monitor is one of the most endering features of PrEl.
First of all, you should be able to view your editing on the DVcam viewing screen. If you can do that, then the only thing necessary is to select the "pass through" mode. That is configured or set differently on various DVcams -- and that may be the problem. If you don't have your owner's manual then I believe you can find them on line. Check Sony's camcorder website.
You may have to have a video tape in the DVcam to make it work. I think you can set the tape to 'read only' to prevent it from recording -- or shutting down after several minutes. -- Ken
