I'm trying to edit my fraps video, it's in 16:9. I don't know which sequence preset should I use. I tried using "HDV 1080i30 (60i)" and my video rendered with weird blackbars. Ultimately, I want to upload this video to Youtube and use 1080p. What are some settings for me to use to accomplish that without spending many hours for rendering? Thanks in advance!

  2. You would the use same specs as your footage. If you don't know what that is, use mediainfo

Enter a custom desktop profile for the sequence settings that matches your footage. Upon export then you can scale to 1080p

Thanks, I'm going to try that now. It's my first time doing this type of thing.

I'm not really sure what am I doing. I rendered the video, and it had like these blackbars (top, right, bottom, left), but I don't want it to have it. I also see it in the preview, I want it to take up the whole screen.

I think it's because of the resolution. My video resolution is 1600x900, but the sequence file created is not. I'm currently trying to find out how can I change it.

  5. I can try to walk you through it. You probably used either the wrong sequence settings, or render settings

1st, copy & paste the mediainfo text (view=>text) and post it here

I think I got it, I couldn't find that "Desktop" profile you were speaking of, so I was using some random one.

CS4, also, could you show me how to lower the volume for a certain part of the video?

  10. the sequence settings should match you input footage

for audio, the easiest way would be to use keyframes. You move your CTI (current time indicator, or playhead) to a section and push the keyframe button. Move it farther on and push it again. You can move the section between the keyframes up/down to alter the volume. You'll figure it out when you fiddle with it

For export settings, 1920x1080, square pixel, 30.0FPS

Thanks for the help, it worked great! How can I make the audio track vertically bigger? I know in Sony Vegas, you can make it wider and vertically bigger, but I can't seem to find it in Premiere.

  12. Just click and drag it to make it vertically larger (drag near the lower end, underneath the keyfram button, where the "1" is in the screenshot above)

I just uploaded my video and it only went up to 720p on youtube, but I wanted 1080p. Is it because my resolution is to small?
    Quote Quote
  15. It sometimes takes a few hours for the 1080p version to show up on YT, there is usually a delay

But to double check, are you sure your export settings were correct? What does mediainfo say about the exported file?

It seems I didn't change the resolution upon export.
    Code:
    Format : MPEG-4
