  1. Hi there,

Does anyone here happen to have templates - or at least, know the settings - for making NTSC KDVDs or KVCDs with Canopus ProCoder?

I prefer to use it instead of anything else, because I like the interface much better than other encoders, and I like the "Stitch" feature...

Unfortunately, you now have to pay to use the KVCD forums, and I'm not even sure if they have such templates or settings.

    Can anyone help?

    From the KVCD forums:

Q: Am I right in saying though that ProCoder cannot have custom matrices?

    A: Yes, you are right.

I cant speak as the voice of authority on the issue, as I have not been to KVCD in some time. They used to be called KVCD.net, but now that you are being charged to use the forum it must now be called KVCD.com . Anyway, the templates when I visted that old site were created for TMPGEncoder. Maybe since then they have tweaked the settings for other encoders, but I dont know for sure. Actually, I am kinda shocked that they would actually charge you for using their forums. I guess somebody needs to pay for webspace. Better the user than selling banner ads and pop-ops

  4. Argh... oh, well... I guess I'll go on making "regular" VCD files, then... I put them on DVD anyway.

  5. They do have templates for Mainconcept, however, you have to pay to use the forums to get them

Well you don't have to pay to get the KVCD knotch matrix, which you can then use with any encoder that supports CQM's to create your own KVCD settings.

Also KVCD is not the only low bitrate matrix so there are alternatives, not that they could ever charge for using that.

Original question was in regards to Canopus, which I guess doesn't support CQM;s anyway.
