What is the colour depth of your video display ?
What is the source avi (codec etc - the usual G-Spot output) ?

  5. You might try opening your AviSynth script in a player and see if it looks any better. I don't use VDub(Mod) to show me how it's supposed to look.

  6. actually i found out that happens even if i dont use an avs file to load it
virtualdub loads all my movies with bad quality
does that mean if i save after making changes the quality will be as bad as it looks in vdub?

  7. Probably a borked codec is decoding your avi.

Yeah, this is a codec issue.
