I know there is probably a guide somewhere, but I cannot find it. Is there anything special I need to do to back up a dvd9 to a dvd9?

Rip it thorough DVDdecryter and burn with same. Or rip through DVDshrink to an ISO and burn that with DVDdecrypter. Both methods will work and they are free.
No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD!

  4. If it is copy protected, then you only need a tool that will decrypt it. DVD Decrypter ISO read (to your hard drive) -> ISO write (mds file from your hard drive that was created by ISO write) to the blank. Simple as that.

  5. Oh, and if it happens to have some type of "newer protection" try using AnyDVD in the background. Works everytime for me.

  6. Be sure to use the MDS file when you burn to DL - this point was emphasized repeatedly on the dvddecrypter forum (when it existed).

Thanks for the help folks. I figured it would be that simple but I didn't want to blow a 5 dollar DL disc first.

Sometimes my software has hang ups on iso files, so I usally rip the whole disc, then just burn the VIDEO_TS file. Will this method still work with DL, or should I definately only burn an iso file?

ISO read (to your hard drive) -> ISO write (mds file from your hard drive that was created by ISO write) to the blank. No need to worry about VIDEO_TS.
