  1. I am dealing with an avi without sound. GSpot give for codec and FourCC the information written in the title. I have last XviD (Koepi) instaled and the video can be opened (and played) in VDubMod just fine. Though through AviSource in avisynth it throw an error: AviSource: Could not decompress frame 0. This is maybe a codec problem or maybe avisynth problem I don't know. I am planing to reconvert the file through huffyuv and then to convert it with avisynth to mpeg. This is rather time consuming process, then I would ask for some solution and suggestions. Which codec I should use?
Hmm, I have thought also about DirectShowSource, but I do not want to use it if there is another way.
    Thanks in advance.

  2. Since VirtualDubMod has no problems with the file, Why don't you just frameserve from VirtualDubMod?

  3. My encoder of choice is QuEnc - need avisynth script. I would try to open the vdr in avisynth, but never done it before, so I don't know how it works.

  5. Problem solved!
Shortly - I tried huffyuv to see how much space it will take and encoded about 1000 frames. Viewing the encoded material i saw a green frame at the beggining of the clip (originally these 10-15 frames are black. Interestingly the green frame was not the first, but the second). Analysing the original in VDubMod show me that first frame is marked as [D] - delta frame? the beggining sequence is [D], [K], [], [], [K] ...... So I cut till the second key frame with VDM saving directly the remain. Now this new clip can be opened through avisynth without problems.
