K, i have a question about this DVD player:

    https://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers.php?DVDname=SD-2805&Search=Search&chipset=&country...y=Name&hits=25

I've never tried to make a CD-MP3, so these may seem like really dumb questions

When it says it can play MP3s, does it mean on a CD and/or DVD?

How can I tell if it can play DVD-audio?

Is there any advantage DVD-audio has over DVD-mp3 if I only plan on playing the music on this specific player?

  2. 1.Most DVD players only support CD-MP3,try a CD-RW and DVD/RW.
2.Few players support DVD-AUDIO or SACD.
3.DVD-AUDIO uses 2ch or 5.1ch LPCM audio(uncompressed/24bit/48-192kHz) and sounds better than MP3.The problem with DVD-AUDIO is you can't rip them and the selection of titles sucks.
I have a Toshiba SD-4900 and it plays everything, unfortunatly they don't make it anymore...you might try the SD-4960.

I didnt realize I had some CD-RWs...I'll try those out. I only want music to play for a party that I'm having, and then I'll be done with the discs...but if MP3 cant play in 5.1, i dunno then....

edit: oops, read wrong, 5.1 is supported for MP3....seems that the CD-MP3 worked, I think I'll just use that, as everyone will be drunk anyway, and I dont think anyone would know/care for the difference

Almost all music is recorded in stereo anyway...so 5.1 is useless.
