    Hi,

you can use virtual dub to add the subs and fameserve to (for example) TMPGEnc. first you have to convert your srt file to ssa. several guides can be found on this site.
Open your file on virtual dub. Go to movie => filter. Click on add filter.(the subtitler filter is not standard in virtual dub, so you have to add it to your filters. Guides can be found on this site.) Select the filter and then the ssa subtitles file. You can do a short preview.
click ok. In virtual dub go to file => start frameserve. you have to name it and a *vdr file will be created.
Now open tmpgenc and select the *vdr file. load the templates you need and adjust the settings as you would like to have them. click on start and wait a few hours. Now an mpeg2 file is created. Convert this to *vob files and burn.

    Regards,
    The Dutchman

...or convert video to DVD specs m2v, audio to DVD specs audiuo (AC3, mp2, LPCM).
Author with DVD-Lab Pro, that supports import of .srt subs.
Or convert .srt to sup with (you guessed it!) srt2sup, author with IfoEdit
(These methods give you "real" selectable DVD subs, as opposed to the VirtualDub method)
