Hello, I have a Nec 2500A yes I know its old but its my 1st dvd burner and I'm very fond of it, but had to replace it as it wouldn't copy copies, I had this problem with just my dvdrom so I assume that the lazers or lens give up after so long, But now it won't reconise any dvd media, it does that long intro of the light flashing for around a minute but once it stops and I try to open any form of dvd media my pc states no media, has any one had a similar problem ? it doesn't have to be just Nec brand, I assume that the dvd function has totally failed it'll read and burn cds but thats not what I want, It's been flashed several times and they all took and worked fine, I brought an Nec 3520A with both in my pc, I could only assume theres a conflict, I've unplugged both drives and tryed each separately but all for no result. I think its gone but if any ones got any ideas, they'ed be much appreciated.
