Hi,

I have a sony dcr hc20 camcorder. Although an year old, I have hardly used it for 10 times. As i have a latest copy-protected vcd, I wanted a record it from my dvd player to the computer through the camcorder.

As mentioned in the user manual, I connected the video-out of dvd player to av-out of camcorder and dv-out of camcorder to firewire of computer.
I was not successful in the attempt and finally gave it up.

Now my cam itself is not working in record mode - only a grey screen is seen in the lcd. All other features like play, edit etc., are working fine.

Sony's support website is next to crap! so, can anybody help me out.
