  1. Hi, I have a file which is encoded with DIVX 5 but has an Ogg Vorbis (Mode3+) Audio track. At prsent I cannot hear any audio. I have installed OggDS0995.exe which I thought would give me audio but no. I want to convert this to a Divx 5 file with MP3 Audio. What would be the easiest way to do this?

    mencoder!, https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=268844#1

or virtualdub, open the video, select video->direct stream copy(copy the video), select audio->full processing, select audio audio compression and select mp3(if you don't have any mp3 install the lame mp3 acm), last select save avi.

  3. Thanks, However when using virtualdub I get a message saying "No Audio decompressor could be found to decompress the source audio format." I installed OggDS0995.exe which I thought would give me audio but no. What & where do I d/l the bits to make this work? Do I need to reboot after installing OggDS0995?

  4. This is how I do it so I can play them on my set top DivX player:

    1. start vdubmod
    2. drop OGM in it
    3. audio (streams/stream list)
    4. demux OGG audio (select track to demux, click demux)
    5. use a utility to re-encode OGM into MP3 (I used dBPower AMP Music Converter)
    6. in vdub mod, disable the OGM track (click disable button)
    7. add MP3 track
    8. close streams dialog box
    9. go to video menu and make sure to set it to "direct stream copy"
    10. go to file/save as, choose AVI as file type, and give it a name.

From the looks of it it isn't an ogm though. It is an avi using vorbis audio. Not a good idea, although I believe ffmpeg can now do vorbis in avi.

Previously I have always suggested that people just delete such files. But maybe ffmpeg can pull it off. However if it was created via the vorbis ACM codec (this is wha the Mode3+ bit suggests) I would still suggest deleting it.

If you want to use VDub then you could try the vorbis ACM codec. Not sure if it has been developed recently though and the docs, etc. are all in Japanese.

Lazy? Mencoder can remux and ogm's video and re-encode the audio to mp3 in one go.
