  1. I have access to Premiere Pro 1.5 at school and recently bought FRAPS to record World of Warcraft footage. I am able to edit the video and add music and effects in Premiere no problem but when I choose to Export the movie using the free Divx codec I got from www.divx.com the resulting video has LOTS of blocks and looks like a bad VCD. I have tried increasing the DIVX bitrate but no dice.

FRAPS records to .avi and the source footage I have looks fine prior to Premiere.

    Any ideas? Thanks

    Hi Murp0s,

I've never needed to do what you're wanting to do, so my help is limited but hopefully constructive...

    1. Save the timeline as a DV AVI file and then open this up in VirtualDub and select the DivX codec in Video -> Compression and then save as a DivX AVI.

    2. Go to www.wrigleyvideo.com/videotutorial and have a look around the forums, or ask the question there. The site is great for all things linked with Adobe and video.

Just out of interest, what type of AVI does FRAPS save to? What codec (if any) is used. Use either GSpot or AVICodec to get the info if you don't kow. This may have a bearing on the problem.

Hope that helps some. Good luck...

  3. Fraps uses its own codec, Fraps Video Decompressor.

Thanks for the advice I will try saving as DV AVI and using VDub to compress and will check out wrigley video asap!

    Thanks much
