I have Windows Media 7 encoder on a WIN98 computer and untill Monday it worked fine.

But if I try to encode a MPEG-1 file to WMA I get the following:

WMENC caused an invalid page fault in
module WMESRCWP.DLL at 0177:5400a6e0.

And if I try the same with an non MPEG file (AVI for example) I get this:

Invalid or Corrupt data was encounted (0XC00D002F)

What is wrong?

I have tried erasing and reinstalling the encoded but no change.

The only advice I have received so far is to reinstll windows

The only real big change to my system has been that I removed Ulead's DVD moviemaker demo after my free time ran out.

No trouble using Windoes Media 8 or any of my other encoders
