I have run a avi-file through VSO DivXtoDVD where a VIDEO_TS-file with vob.files etc successfully is created. When I use that VIDEO_TS-file as input in TMPGEnc DVD Author together with other VIDEO-TS-files, the program TMPGEnc DVD Author refuses to accept the VSO DivXtoDVD-produced VIDEO_TS-file with the message: "Could not initialize decoder". What can be the problem?

Yes, mpeg2-files and other VIDEO_TS-files can be imported. I have used TMPG DVD Author for rather a long time and I have never had this problem.

I had the same problem, and only with files from VSODivXtoDVD. I uninstalled it, file-size & bitrate was always too (small, low).

When I try to merge two avi-files with Virtualdub (one file is the one mentioned above), the Virtualdub-program answers when I try to add the first one (the same answer when I try to open the second avi-file): "Could not open the avi-file. The audio streams have different sampling rates, 12158.000 vs 27.778). Can this be "repaired"`?

  7. You would have to de-mux the VOB or AVI, run the audio through BeSweet and adjust the sampling to match, then re-mux the video and audio.
