    i recently reformatted my comp, and I reinstalled divx and xvid. I transferred an mpeg2 file from my other comp but WMP cannot play it as it does not have the codec. I don't know what I'm missing. Can help? Oh..and the mpeg2 file has some audio sync problems which is gradual. I couldn't find a guide on correcting this, another has any links to point out to me? Thanks.

    install a mpeg2 codec like
    windvd
    powerdvd
    stinkys mpeg2 codec (free)
    dscaler5 (free)
    GPL MPEG-1/2 Decoder (free)
    NVIDIA DVD Decoder
