I have some home made DVDs that I want to move to my hard drive. Theres no copy protection but I like to use DVD Decryptor to do the job more than drag and drop the whole disk into a folder.
Does running it thru DVD Decryptor change the quality at all?

Yes, lossless.
No, does not change it.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

The only lossy thing about DVD Decryptor is when it removes CSS encryption when present, or other user-specified options (Macrovision, RegionCoding, UOP's).
EVERYTHING else is Lossless.
So a homemade DVD-R would usually be copied COMPLETELY LOSSLESSLY (1:1).

Why not just drag and drop. Less mouse clicks and I would expect it to be faster as no thinking is involved.

I don't understand why you would prefer DVDDecrypter to copy unencrypted files from your disc to your HD, unless you get some "warm and fuzzies" with all the extra mouse clicks! Could you please enlighten us?

I have it set up kind of automated since I do it a lot with my encrypted DVDs
Just habit I suppose!
Im not sure I'll continue to do it, I was just wondering if I had to redo some that I already did. -
Automated is good - as long as you don't let the automatons take completely over!

Certainly less files/folders to have to keep track of...

Also, DVDDecrypter does some desirable things beyond DeCSS. PUO, region code and macrovision removal for example.
