  2. Try DVDSHRINK, this will allow you to see all the seperate parts of a DVD structure.
You can find the part you want by opening up the files one by one and previewing them.
Once you find the part you want you can back it up on its own to a video file (You need to do this in the re-author window) and then use one of the other software tools on here to convert it to what you want.

I use DVDSHRINK to rip the Dolby trailers and other such trailers to use on other DVD,s.

Check out the guides and you'll find some useful ideas for how to do this.

    Good luck

I'd use IFOEdit's DVD Player, because whilst playing it shows you which title and which chapter it is playing, and then also once you're finished, it gives you a messagebox with a list of titles that it played. Makes it easy to see the order in which things play.

DVDShrink's preview would work OK also, but I think my suggestion is a more direct way of doing it.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  10. Glad to see you found what you wanted using DVDSHRINK.

To rip the file you want you need to select to reauthor the DVD.
Once you have selected to reauthor you will have three windows, the DVD will open in the window on the right.
Find the part you want by previewing and then once you have found it drag it to the top window on the left.
Then select the backup icon and you will see a dialog box open up.
Here you can specify how to back it up.
Choose the 'folder' option and specify a location to store it then select 'OK' (i think) it will then rip this one section to a VOB file (VIDEO_TS FOLDER).

After a few seconds you should have what you want.

    Any problems just ask again.

Sorry if this is a bit vague but its difficult to describe without having the program in front of me - I'm at work!

  12. After ripping the DVD to your HD, you can use DVDx, DVD2AVI or Virtualdub MPEG2 to convert to AVI or frameserve to another encoder (if you want an MPG or DIVX).

  13. Just to let you know, I'm looking into jimmalenko's suggestion but I'm having problems with getting the DVD player in Ifoedit to work.
If you try this you may come across the same problem !
The Ifoedit player doesn't seem to want to play the DVD.
