  1. Hi, needing some help here, I have some old camcorder tapes not digital,
that I am trying to put onto DVD,
I have just bought a USB2 capture device that'll let me record straight
    to DVD,
but I would like to add chapters aswell ,so I can skip through if I want,
I am new to this and dont fancy capturing and then editing(cause I've never tried it)
I would like to know of ANY software that'll add chapters automatically during burning
    thanks

  3. Will Ulead support your capture device? That's the question you'd have to answer for any software you find.
Most likely what you'll find is, although a particular program says it can do chapters as it's creating the dvd, it's a misleading statement. AFAIK, to author a dvd with chapters requires capturing the material first. Yeah sure, Ulead claims what you want but I'd bet what's really happening is the material is captured, encoded and thenauthored with subsequent chapters then burned. If this is the case then your dvd creation time is increased to the point of losing the time saved by going straight to dvd.

    No. Terms do not match.
Chapters is something done at authoring.
    Capturing is not authoring.

  5. Tried to burn straight do DVD using a couple of programs and both had no sound and were dropping frames,
So tried movie factory again and captured to mpeg
then DVD and everything worked ok,

Like I said I'm a newbie to this and was trying to cut corners but I'll just stick to this method as it works fine
