How can i edit video files so they can be brighter and colourfull?I use tv-out a lot to see video files in my tv,but the display is quite dark.
By changing the TV setting the picture gets messed up and by adjusting the brigtness slider in the mplayer software all it does s just gets kinda whiter!
Any suggestions?

You could try using something like virtualdub to adjust colour, brightness and contrast. You will have to balance all three to get the best results, and you will also have to re-encode the results.
