I am now using windv to capture my movies from my sony digital 8 cam to my pc so that I can convert to dvd. I have Tmpeg plus. My issue is that after capturing windv broke up the move into 5 separate files. Do I need to combine these before using Tmpeg? How should I go about getting the movie on DVD. thank you.

No you don't have to combine the files, there are several options. You can frameserve with virtualdub or avisynth, both programs will make the collection seem to be one file and you can add all kinds of filters to improve output. I use TMPGE Express and that encoded will also combine a series of files into one if you wish. A number odf authoring programs will also take several encoded files and make them into one movie, TMPGE's Authoring program is one that will do this.
There are alll kinds of guides that will give you the details of how to do this.
The simplest way to describe the process, to answer your second question, is capture or rip, encode, author, and burn. Again, the info is all in the guides, or you can search the forum for more info. Nyah Levi
