  1. I'm using autogk to convert my dvds to avi files. I have a collection of about 20 movies since i started doing this a few months ago. And every time i rip one i scan through it for video quality and sound. And the sound always works. But now, even some of the movies i've watched all the way through which had sound, the sound isnt working in them anymore. I'm guessing its a sound codec problem, but i havent added any new codecs. I've tried playing it in a few players like DivX player, and WMP, and ATI file player.

Check the files with gspot or avicodec to identify the audio codec and if you have them installed.

  3. I think is has some thing about hidden chapters. Try this get DVD2ONe, CloneDVD or DVDshrink back up the movie only. With only one angle in the movie.

Now when you encode your movie to rip the audio the files would be easier for other programs to track while ripping the audio.

  4. Could be DivxPro which alot of software packages have probs with (I ran into some audio probs with DivxPro and Quicktime because I didn't have the right codec. Every now and then, I forget about that little annoyance and it happens again...
