Can you use a single sata drive in raid 1? Just using it as a sata controller?

Raid of any sort requires 2 or more physical drives. If you have a SATA Raid controller, depending on the make/model you may (probably) be able to attach a single drive to use in a non-raid manner.Originally Posted by brand xThere are 10 kinds of people in this world. Thats exactlly what i meant to say(lol). Just couldn't get it out right. I just
built a new comp. The motherboard is an Asus k8n-e. It has 4 raid controllers on it, and i was just wondering if i could use 1 of those for a single drive. Thanks for the reply. -
If i could possibly use that as such, how would i get the device manager to see the drive? I have all the drivers installed.
