My question is concerning tool redundancies in TMPGenc and VirtualDub. I have been doing a lot of capturing and editing in Virtualdub and then frameserving to TMPGenc lately and I am finding mixed results. I tried several clips using the sharpen tool in VirtualDub and in TMPGenc...and found that on certain clips I liked VD's results better and in others I liked TMPGenc's better. What do you all think? How about other redundant filters? Let the information exchange begin....

I personally find VirtualDub's filters a lot easier to use, TMPGEnc is nice, but I like the way you can choose the order of the filters in vdub.
I must admit though, I now do all my filtering in avisynth.
