I am hetting an over abundance of brightness after i have burned a dvd with nero express 3. I am buring mostly wmv types. When there is something white in the scene or a scene that is set outside there is a brightness in the dvd that i cant even see the scene. Its not my tv cause i checked the settings and its not my dvd player either and right before i burn on nero it tells me my setting is more ntsc than pal but in will encode in pal is that the problem? What should i do?

The problem is either the original source WMV and/or the way NERO is encoding the file.
The best thing to do is to use something otherthan NERO because NERO does not have the "options" needed to fix errors like that in the source nor is NERO considered a quality MPEG-2 encoder.
I almost never convert WMV files to MPEG-2 DVD spec though so I can't offer any specific advice on what to use otherthan to say do not keep using NERO for your MPEG-2 DVD spec encoding.
Perhaps someone else with more experience with encoding WMV files to MPEG-2 DVD spec will speak up.

If it were me I would try using TMPGEnc Plus as my encoder. I know it can encode from WMV files. It also has built-in controls for image properties such as brightness and contrast etc.
You can also control how the source file is dealt with in terms of the luminance levels (this is probably the big problem in your case). This is done by how you set the infamious TMPGEnc Plus option entitled, "Output YUV data as Basic YCbCr not CCIR601". Playing with that setting (do one encode with it checkmarked and one with it NOT checkmarked) can often make a world of difference when it comes to the luminance levels.
Unfortunately TMPGEnc Plus is not free but it does have a fully functional trail period and it is very reasonable priced.
