  1. ive been thinking about buying this vcr for transfering old tapes that were recorded in EP from other peoples vcr to my PANNY. does the TBC or picture stableizer help in keeping the tracking locked and picture from jumping? I know thats its pricy but if it works its worth the money. any owners of this VCR that can offer me any info. PLEASR REPLY!

  2. You'd probably get more responses if you posted this in the capture section.

I got the 9911 recently and I'm quite pleased with it. I also got a separate tbc so I can't comment on how good the internal tbc is by itself.

You might also consider JVC VCRs that have the Dynamic Drum System in addition to the TBC/DNR (7600, 9500, 9600, etc.). This system dynamically adjusts the tilt angle of the scanner to optimize tracking in a way that other VCRs cannot. This might help the playback of EP tapes from unknown VCRs.
